We are really excited to introduce you to the new Castle Point Wellbeing Team, a dedicated team driven by one goal: enhancing the quality of life and social connection of our local community!

Meet the Team:

Our newly formed team will be delivering the Castle Point Wellbeing Referral Campaign and will be driven by one goal:  enhancing the quality of life and social connection of our local community.
Our job is also to ensure everyone living in Castle Points is aware of the great work and services provided by partners and local charities. If you see us in around Benfleet, Canvey Island, Thundersley or Hadleigh, please come and say Hi!

Is This For You?

The 6 Week Wellbeing Program is offered to everyone living in Castle Point who needs support in achieving a better and more connected lifestyle and would like to build friendships and adopt healthier habits. It runs from Monday 17 February until Friday 28 March. All classes are FREE and there are no obligations to commit to regular participation, or to subscribe to a membership.

It is simply a chance to explore, enjoy and improve your wellbeing! Whether you’re looking to move more, feel better, or connect with others, we’ve created something special for everyone in our community.

Monday

Calm Flow - 12:30 (45 minutes)

Calm Flow is a Breath & Meditation practice that combines rhythmic breathing exercises with mindfulness and relaxation. The session is designed to bring greater focus on breathing patterns while becoming more aware of the sensations in our body.

Improves focus, relaxation, reduces stress, improves sleep, increases self-awareness, enahnce emotional wellbeing.

Location: Waterside Farm Leisure Centre – Studio 2

Sit & Move - 13:30 (45 minutes)

Sit & Move is a chair-based exercise session that includes a series of gentle and simple movements to improve flexibility, balance and range of motion while supporting general health and wellbeing. Some of the great benefits are: improved mobility, posture, flexibility, strength whilst boosting confidence and energy levels.

Improves mobility, posture, circulation, flexibility, decreases fall risk over time and boosts confidence

Location: Waterside Farm Leisure Centre – Studio 1

Menopause Workout - 14:30 (45 minutes)

A gentle strength and conditioning class designed to help participants better manage menopause or perimenopause symptoms, both physical and emotional.

Reduces isolation, improves mental wellbeing, encourages gentle physical activity.

Location: Waterside Farm Leisure Centre – Studio 2

Sporting Memories - 14:00 (2 hours)

Reminisce and replay through the power of sport and physical activity by sharing stories about your experiences of sport and reconnecting with physical activity with the support of other like-minded members of the community.

Reduces isolation, improves mental wellbeing, encourages gentle physical activity.

Tuesday

Walk & Dance Fit - 11:30 (45 minutes)

A gentle Walk & Dance Workout to the best tunes from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s classics! An easy and fun way to add extra steps, enjoy some great songs, sign along if wanted and meet like-minded friends! It is suitable for all level of fitness.

Improves cardio health, enduarance strength and flexibility through walking and dance steps.

Location: Waterside Farm Leisure Centre – Studio 1

Sporting Memories - 14:00 (2 hours)

Reminisce and replay through the power of sport and physical activity by sharing stories about your experiences of sport and reconnecting with physical activity with the support of other like-minded members of the community.

Reduces isolation, improves mental wellbeing, encourages gentle physical activity.

Wednesday

Strollercise - 11:35 (1 hours)

Come and find out what Strollercise is all about! This is a low intensity fitness class covering 6,000 steps in 1 hour (equivalent to 3 miles). The Strollercise classes are inspiring & motivating and, most importantly, fun. They feel more like a fun social hour than an exercise class, members are burning calories and getting fit.

Story Time & Play With Magic Molly - 11:45 (45 minutes)

Take your child on a magical adventure filled with singing, playing and the enchanting story Let’s Plant a Seed. Magic Molly is a magical, vibrant character who teaches children to love themselves exactly as they are! She uses mindfulness techniques to encourage a strong sense of self whilst exploring their creativity.

Improve self-awareness, resilience, emotional wellbeing, enahnced cognitive development, early intro to mindfulness.

Little Sprogs - 12:45 (45 minutes)Starting from 26 Feb

A fun movement and play session for children, aimed to encourage movement and interaction. The session is designed to inspire young people to fall in love with physical activity, helping them experience the joy and vitality of moving to music whilst having fun!

Movement and play class, making shapes with the body and being animal characters.

Location: Waterside Farm Leisure Centre – Sports Hall

Menopause Workout - 14:00 (45 minutes)

A gentle strength and conditioning class designed to help participants better manage menopause or perimenopause symptoms, both physical and emotional.

Adult Punchercise - 15:00 (45 minutes)

Learning the basics of boxing is for anyone and for any age! Punchercise for Adults combines gentle cardiovascular health, strength training, balance, and cognitive function exercises, all wrapped into one engaging workout. Improve your physical and mental fitness, enhance focus and coordination all in one class!

Kids Punchercise - 16:00 (45 minutes)

This is an introduction of a weekly after-school combat / boxing exercise class, specifically designed for children aged 8-16. The class offers a combination of physical and mental conditioning that benefits children in many positive ways, including channelling energy and focus learning great combat techniques!

Thursday

Chair Yoga - 12:35 (45 minutes)

This is a modified form of yoga that involves practising poses and breathing exercises while seated on a chair or using the chair for support. It is designed to make yoga accessible to individuals with limited mobility, and it is a great practice for beginners or anyone who wants to focus on gentle practice in a safe and welcoming environment.

Improves flexibility, strength, balance, reduces stress, reduce aches/pains, lower BP.

Get Moving: One To One Introduction To Exercise - Anytime (45 minutes)

This session is designed for anyone who would like to start moving, exercising and getting healthier but doesn’t know where to start. This One To One session supported by our qualified Personal Trainers and Gym Instructors will provide a great opportunity to find out ways to use the gym floor or what group exercise classes can work for you. It will give you the understanding and the confidence to start your journey to a stronger, healthier and more active self!

Social Badminton - 14:00 (45 minutes)

Relaxed, non-competive session designed for you to play badminton while meeting new people, getting a bit more active and having fun!

Full-body workout- improve agility, reflexes and endurance. Improve social skills, mental wellbeing, comraderie, boost mood.

Location: Waterside Farm Leisure Centre – Sports Hall

Adult Water Confidence - 14:00 (40 minutes)

A relaxed swimming session where our expert swim instructors will teach you basic and safe swimming techniques and you can learn at your own pace, chat with friends, and build confidence in the water. The session is designed to improve swimming skills while building relationships with new people.

Learn to swim and gain water confidemce whilst improving fitness levels.

Friday

Chair Yoga - 12:30 (45 minutes)

Rediscover the Joy of Sport with Sporting Memories Weekly Sessions

Do you have a passion for sport and a love for great conversations? Whether you’ve played, watched, or simply enjoyed sports over the years, Sporting Memories offers a welcoming space where you can relive those special moments, share stories, and make new connections.

What is Sporting Memories? Sporting Memories is a friendly and supportive group designed for older adults, especially those who may be feeling isolated or living with conditions like dementia, depression, or loneliness. Our weekly sessions bring people together to chat about sport, enjoy fun activities, and even take part in light physical exercise, all in a relaxed and inclusive setting.

What to Expect at a Session? Every week, our Sporting Memories groups meet to talk about legendary sporting moments—from World Cup victories and Olympic triumphs to local grassroots games that made a lasting impact. Sessions include:

  • Sports Reminiscence: Share and listen to amazing sporting memories using photos, newspaper clippings, and videos.
  • Light Activities: Keep active with gentle games and exercises suitable for all abilities.
  • Friendship & Fun: Meet like-minded people, make new friends, and enjoy a cuppa together.

Who Can Join? Sporting Memories is open to anyone who loves sport, regardless of age or ability. It’s especially beneficial for older adults who want to stay socially connected and active. Whether you were a Sunday league striker, an armchair fan, or just enjoy reminiscing, you’ll feel right at home.
